 Jun 27, 2008 The presence of the viewer is vital, and so is the transaction between their first impression and final realization of the work. The work falls somewhere in between public and private, absence and presence, active and passive, exposure and control, restriction and freedom. The medium is the individual body versus the collective body, the act of concealing versus the act of revealing. The aim is to create places and moments of uncertainty, where one thing is interpreted as something different, and seems familiar yet peculiar. Performances may turn out to be sculptures.
